These highly versatile, submersible pumps are energy efficient and can be used in numerous applications. AquaClear Powerheads are designed with numerous features to provide optimal performance for most installations. Complete with ceramic shafts, venturi control valves, hose adapter, Duragrip suction mounts, and more, these units can be used to:
Drive protein skimmers and wet/dry filters.
Drive undergravel filters (provide superior flow rates through gravel bed).
Mix and prepare water for partial water changes (ideal for mixing salt water).
Provide current for reef tanks and other applications (easy to hide in rock structure).
Attach to Quick Filters for additional chemical and/or mechanical filtration (ideal for clearing cloudy water in combination with PClear).
Increase oxygen level (position output to move water surface).
Back-flushing of gravel for maintenance with 402 and 802 (Reverse Flow Feature).

- Adding a powerhead to an undergravel system increases water flow through a gravel substrate and improves its filtering efficiency. It also oxygenates water and, in the process, provides needed oxygen to colonies of beneficial bacteria in the gravel which optimizes their biological filtration capabilities.
- Reverse Flow Operation - Both forward and reverse water flow. Keeps the substrate cleaner by forcing debris to the top.
- Easily fitted to most undergravel systems. Powerhead comes equipped with a tapered riser stem adapter which accepts 13mm / 1/2" to 28.5mm / 1.125" tubing. Rim clamp firmly holds it in place atop the riser stem and an optional suction cup bracket which allows the unit to hang from an aquarium wall instead of the rim.
